Because this is a shared hosting environment, what one user does directly affects everyone else on the server. I take abuse reports seriously to keep things stable and fair for all users. This page explains how to report abuse and what happens after a report is filed.
If you notice another user abusing the service, or if your site is being targeted by an account hosted on this server, reach out immediately at abuse@waytonat.com. To help investigate quickly, include the following details:
I review all abuse reports manually. Because this is a one-person operation, reports are handled as they come in. If a report is created, I will respond to it accordingly based on the urgency and severity of the issue. Critical reports involving active malware, ongoing phishing, or datacenter-level attacks are prioritized and addressed first.
I follow the same approach outlined in the Acceptable Use Policy. For non-obvious abuse cases. like a misconfigured plugin spiking CPU or a script accidentally consuming resources. my default approach is to reach out to the account owner first. I may temporarily suspend the account while investigating, and if the issue is resolved promptly, I'll lift the suspension.
For obvious spammers, blatant abuse, phishing, and malware, I permanently suspend the account immediately with no warning. There's no tolerance for negotiating with bad actors. I pull the plug the moment malicious activity is confirmed.
The server runs on hardware provided by an upstream datacenter. While I handle all account-level moderation directly, upstream network-level abuse complaints. such as datacenter-scale DDoS attacks. may be handled or escalated by the upstream provider's own abuse team independently of my process.
Weaponizing abuse reports to get a competitor or someone you disagree with suspended is not tolerated. If I determine a report is malicious or fabricated, I'll ignore it. If the reporter is also a user on this platform, I may take further action against their account.
